Climate control that works as hard as your business

Temperature affects productivity, customer dwell time and the equipment you rely on.

Kent Air Conditioning designs, installs and maintains commercial systems for businesses of every size — from a single office or treatment room to multi-room premises. We look at how your space is used, how many people occupy it and what generates heat, then recommend a system that balances performance, running costs and budget.

Once it’s in, planned maintenance keeps it efficient and reliable, and our technicians are on hand for repairs if anything goes wrong.

By sector

Air conditioning for every type of business premises

Different businesses have very different cooling needs. These are the ones we’re asked about most.

Even temperatures across desks and meeting rooms, with zoned control so empty rooms aren’t cooled unnecessarily.

Shops & retail units

Keep customers browsing for longer, staff comfortable at the till and temperature-sensitive stock protected.

Restaurants, cafés & pubs

Systems sized for kitchen heat, busy covers and doors that open constantly through service.

Server & comms rooms

Dedicated cooling that runs around the clock to keep critical IT equipment within safe temperatures.

Salons, clinics & studios

Calm, consistent temperatures for clients, treatments and heat-producing equipment like dryers.

Warehouses & workshops

Targeted cooling for offices, mezzanines and work areas within larger industrial units.

Ceiling cassettes, wall units or multi split? Choosing commercial AC

We design around your layout, your ceilings and how each area is used.

Recessed into suspended ceilings with four-way airflow that spreads evenly across open-plan offices and shop floors — leaving walls free.

Wall-mounted splits

An efficient, cost-effective choice for individual offices, meeting rooms, treatment rooms and smaller shops.

Multi split systems

Serve several rooms from one outdoor unit — ideal where space for condensers is limited.

Budgeting

What affects the cost of commercial air conditioning?

Every project is priced individually. These are the factors that make the biggest difference:

  • The size of the space and the number of indoor units
  • The type of unit — cassette, wall-mounted or floor-standing
  • How far pipework has to run and how it will be concealed
  • Access for the outdoor units, including roofs and high walls
  • Whether work needs to happen outside normal hours
  • Any electrical work needed to supply the system

You’ll always receive a free, fixed written quote before any work begins.

Compliance

Your responsibilities as a business owner

Commercial air conditioning comes with a few obligations worth knowing about.

Do commercial air conditioning systems need leak checks?

Under the F-gas regulations, systems above a certain refrigerant threshold (5 tonnes CO2 equivalent) must be checked for leaks at set intervals, with records kept. Many small systems fall below this, but larger installations often don’t — we’ll tell you where yours stands.

Who is allowed to work on our system?

Anyone installing, servicing or repairing equipment containing F-gas refrigerants must be appropriately certified. Always ask any contractor to confirm their certification before work starts.

How often should commercial systems be serviced?

At least once a year for most offices and shops, and more often for systems that run long hours or sit in dusty or greasy environments such as kitchens and workshops. See our servicing and maintenance page for more.

Still have a question?

Speak to our friendly team — Mon – Fri, 8:00am – 6:00pm.

Can you install air conditioning outside our trading hours?

We plan every commercial installation around your business to keep disruption to a minimum. Tell us when your premises are quietest and we’ll build the timings into your quote.

How long does a commercial air conditioning installation take?

A small office or shop can often be completed in a day or two; larger premises with several indoor units take longer. We’ll give you a clear programme of works before we start.

Is there a maximum workplace temperature in the UK?

There’s no legal maximum. The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 require employers to keep indoor temperatures “reasonable”, and HSE guidance suggests a minimum of 16°C (13°C for strenuous work). In practice, air conditioning is the most reliable way to keep offices and shops comfortable in hot weather.

Do you look after systems installed by someone else?

Get in touch with the make and model of your system and a brief description of what you need, and we’ll let you know how we can help.
